1.2 Introduction

This user manual provides a description of the ScaleAQ accessory holder for use on ScaleAQ floating collars and guidance for safe use. The holder is used for safe mounting of accessories and has modular brackets designed to fit ScaleAQ floating collars with both steel brackets and plastic brackets with dimensions FR(PL)400, 450, 500, 560 and 630.

The accessory holder allows the fish farmer to use all accessory modules in one and the same holder. Contact ScaleAQ for descriptions of the module types offered. Figures 1.1 and 1.2 show the accessory holder fitted with steel brackets and plastic brackets respectively.

2 Description of the accessory holder and its components

Item numbers for the modules used for the accessory holder with steel brackets (FR) and plastic brackets (FRPL) are listed in Table 2.

3 Interaction with other components

The different variants of accessory holders are designed for mounting on ScaleAQ steel brackets and plastic brackets on the pen dimensions given in Table 2. Information about permitted torque in the handrail post is available in the specific pen certificate. In the event of any lateral load from the accessory to be used, ScaleAQ must be contacted for approval before installation.

4 Assembly of the unit

Attach the accessory holder to the pen’s bracket post using the supplied screws, washers, nuts and U-shaped mounting brackets. Remove any loose hooks on the post and reattach with the longer bolts supplied.

4.1 Assembly on steel brackets

The accessory holder that is mounted to steel brackets has the same mounting equipment for FR450-560 and a separate for FR630. The upper part of the holder is secured with a plate and the lower part with a U-shaped mounting bracket, see Figures 4.1 and 4.2.

Figure 4.2: Installation of U-shaped mounting bracket with washers and nuts M10 at the lower part of the accessory holder.

The internal and external dimensions of the accessory holder are shown in Figures 4.3 and 4.4.

4.2 Assembly on plastic brackets

Accessory holder on plastic brackets consists of:

  • Upper and lower brackets that are assembled around the bracket post
  • Clamping plate that is attached under the top plate of the plastic bracket

The brackets and clamp plate are attached using the bolts, washers and nuts supplied for the specific item number of the pen dimension, see Figure 4.5. To attach the accessory holder to the top plate of the plastic bracket, 4 holes must be drilled for the supplied bolts.

Figure 4.6: Example of attachment of the holder to the top plate on plastic brackets for FRPL500.

5 Installation on site

The accessory holder is installed on steel brackets or plastic brackets with the supplied attachment material as shown in chapter 4.

6 Use
